Dennis and family,
I was
Tammy's roommate in law school and have just learned of your law. Tammy was a unique individual, talented, and with a great sense of spirit, justice and love of life. I am so sorry that I did not keep in touch with her throughout the years, but it is my loss. I would like to make a contribution in Tammy's honor - if you can, please contact me at thesharps1@gmail.com

Gosh, what can I say? I knew Tammy since she came to live in Thomaston in 1976. She firmly believed she should have been born in the South and talked about it many times. What a keen mind and great spirit. God bless her family and may they find peace. I know God is holding her in His arms where she will be whole again.

Tammy Jacobs struggled with all her heart and soul to make the right to counsel a reality for her clients. She work extraordinarily hard, cared deeply for the people she represented, and spoke the truth about justice and injustices she saw. She was a mentor and friend to many criminal defense lawyers. Her encouragement and support will be missed but her spirit and determination will continue to inspire us.b

I'll never forget the Sunday afternoon when Bill Lively and Tammy Jacobs were inside of my home unannounced. I saw the front door open, I went in very cautiously, and heard loud voices and laughter from the back part of the house. When I made my presence known, Tammy sticks her head around a corner and says "Oh hi, Scotty. Bill told me that your house is for sale, and I want to buy it. How much?" I gave her the price, and she said "That's fine. We'll close in 2 weeks if that's okay with you." She was even gracious enough to give us more than adequate time to vacate the house! Tammy was a mighty fine woman. She chose a profession that she dearly loved and cared about. She once told me "No matter how slimy the crime is, everyone deserves adequate defense, even when there is no defense." Dennis and sons: I'm really sorry for your loss - but comfort yourselves in the knowledge that there are, quite literally, thousands of lives that were touched as a result of Tammy. May God bring you the peace and comfort that only He can give during this most difficult of times. We love y'all.

I was saddened to hear of Tammy's passing. When I left Thomaston last year, I knew she had been struggling with her illness. Tammy always displayed kindness and consistency, and it was my privilege to have known her. Tammy was always available with a word of encouragement or a polite suggestion on how to be a better lawyer and a better person. Her enthusiasm for her work and family was never forced, but always genuine and passionate. Her honest belief in advocacy was inspirational to a young learning lawyer.

Dennis & Tammy's Beloved Sons - We are so sorry to hear of Tammy's death. I remember the hours I spent working for her at the law office so many years ago -- I am sure you all realize how very special your wife, mother and sister was -- I have many happy memories of her. She was one of my dearest friends and was there for me when my parents passed.I loved her very much and you all will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. I dreamed of Tammy last night -- we were at the office and she was ordering me around, as usual, such a sweet dream -- something else I have to hold on to.W
