Obituary of Janice Hitchcock Cone

Mrs. Janice Hitchcock Cone, age 81, of Jonesboro, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.  

Janice was born on Thursday, July 22, 1943, in Dallas, Georgia, to the late Arthur Brunell Hitchcock and Eunice Webb Hitchcock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dottie.

Janice loved the Lord and had strong faith. She loved studying the Bible, even much so that she taught herself Hebrew just so she could study it in its original language. Janice enjoyed a variety of physical activities, including playing tennis, ice skating, rollerblading, and walking. She was also an avid reader and had the ability to read and speak several languages.

Janice is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Ed Cone, Jr. of Jonesboro; son and daughter-in-law, Michael (Brenda) Cone of Milner; daughter and son-in-law, Monica (Frank) Patrick of Panama City; grandchildren, Johnathan O’Conner and Corey Gaddis; great-grandchildren, Fox and Fallon O’Conner; brothers, Jon Hitchcock and Bobby Hitchcock; several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Janice Cone will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at Breedlove Memorial Chapel with Pastor David Dawson officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
