Obituary of Ruth Alice McGaha

Ruth Alice McGaha, of Forsyth, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at the age of 72.

Ruth was born on Sunday, June 22, 1952, in Barnesville, Georgia to the late Sam Loyd Whitmire and the late Alice Flake Henry Whitmire.  

Ruth loved her family and was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.   She loved people and never met a stranger. She had unwavering Faith. She worked for Hillsborough Sheriff’s Department, for 20 years. She loved life and always liked to travel. She was The President of Feeders of The Lamb. She enjoyed reading, and spending time with her fur babies.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Wade McGaha; daughter Michelle (Nick) Fiscella, Allison Mello; grandchildren, Sage, Cale, Taylor, Dakotah, Ashlie, Olivia, Oakley, Paige; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Jane Roney; brothers, John Whitmire, Henry Whitmire, several nieces, nephews & cousins.

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Ruth Alice McGaha will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Ramah Primitive Baptist Church, Barnesville Georgia, with Reverend Sam Bennett officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested to make donations to The American Cancer Society at donate.cancer.org in Memory of Ruth Alice McGaha.
