


Obituary of Betty Jean Amon
Betty Jean Amon, 90, of Hampton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 03, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Betty was born on Monday, December 24, 1934, in Arab, Alabama to the late Pauline Davenport. Along with her mother, she is preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Henson; sister, Glenda Patman; brothers-in-law, Jim Gilliland, Levon Jimmerson, Jim Shepherd.
Betty loved spending time with her family, playing rummy and rook, and you could not beat her at dominos. She made sure to watch The Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune every day. Her favorite music was classic country. She loved going to the beach. She had a love for seafood, especially Red Lobster. She liked going shopping for clothes and shoes, that was a favorite of hers.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Herman) Byrd; son, Steve Howell; grandchildren, Jason (Tiffany) Howell, Jessica (Kaleb) Stephens; great-grandchildren, Jordan Howell, Jaylen Howell; sisters, Barbara Gilliland, Becky Jimmerson, Pat Shepherd; brothers, Mike (Susan) Williams, Alton (Sally) Williams. Several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A Memorial Service for Ms. Betty Jean Amon will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at Williams-Westbury Funeral Home, Barnesville Georgia, with Pastor Roger Mitchum officiating. Friends can visit with family one hour prior to Memorial Service.
