Mr. Mark Brantley Long – Obituary

Mr. Mark Brantley “Jumbo” Long, age 73, of Barnesville, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025.

Mark was born on Friday, January 18, 1952, in Barnesville, Georgia, to the late Robert Long and Sue Ellen Hurd Long. He is also preceded in death, by his brother, Mike “Mo” Long. Mark was an avid UGA fan, he loved to go fishing, he enjoyed umpiring games and was a charter member of Deer Trail Golf Course, where he had a hole in one. He was also a member at Calvary Baptist Church. Mark loved his family very much and was an awesome granddaddy.

Mark is survived by his wife of 33 years, Robin Long; son and daughter-in-law, Jody and Melissa Burks; daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Tom Weed; grandchildren, Brandon Falter, Lindsey Kresl, Justin Burks, Kara Weed, Joe Burks, Gage Burks, Jace Burks; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Bobbie Sue Long Spillman; and several, nieces, and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Mr. Mark “Jumbo” Long will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Williams-Westbury Funeral Home with Reverend Chip Garrison officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to donate to the funeral home can do so, to assist the family with funeral expenses.
