Mrs. Mary "Jane" Lavender Howard, age 79 of Barnesville passed away on August 19, 2025.
Jane was born on February 9, 1946 to Adam C. Lavender Sr., and Edna Earle Wilson Lavender in Bluefield, West Virginia. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Adam C. Lavender, Jr., and her sister Janet Lavender Mitchell. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Lt. Colonel (retired) Michael L. Howard (Mike or Mickey), two daughters Leigh (Abe) McDaniel, Tami (Charles) Chapman, grandchildren Kalee (Chance) Korb, Bryce (McKay) McDaniel, Avery Chapman, Camryn Chapman, Caelan Chapman, Carsen Chapman, Elizabeth Chapman, and Adrien Chapman, two great grandchildren Aidyn Korb and Conner Korb, twin sister Harriet Joan Walden, and many nieces and nephews.
Jane ‘s finest trait was the care and love she had for her family, as well as her patients in her many roles as a Registered Nurse. She was a devoted military wife with her husband’s numerous duty stations and the challenges associated with relocation of her family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held on October 11, 2025 at 2 PM at Oak Hill Farms, 5284 Barnesville Highway, The Rock, Georgia 30285. The family will welcome her friends to share their favorite stories of Jane.
