Obituary of Cecil Rose
Mr. Cecil Kile Rose age 97, of Barnesville, Georgia, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Cecil was born on Monday, January 9, 1928, in Freemont, Virginia to the late William Arthur Rose and the late Polly E. Tipton Rose. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; Eleanor Mullins Rose, son; Mitchell Rose and granddaughter April Rose.
Cecil served in the United States Navy where he served as a Seaman during World War II. He was also very active in the Masonic Community where he was a lifelong member of the Scottish Rite. He served as Past Grand Inspector at the Grand Lodge of Maryland where he was also Vice President Grand Inspector, Past Grand Director of Ceremonies and Past Master and current member of the Pinta Lodge #88.
Cecil is survived by his children; Gary Rose, Rick Rose (Melisa), Step-Daughter; Shelba Hilmer, grandchildren; Amanda Rose, Ricky Rose, Brandy Rose, Tony Rose, Candie Rose, Angie Rose, Mitchell Rose Jr., Jennifer Rhodes, sister; Agnes Buice along with numerous great-grandchildren and extended family members and friends.
A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Ken English will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 1 P.M. at Milner Baptist Church 107 Pecan Drive Milner, Ga 30257. Following the service, Cecil will be laid to rest at the Milner Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service at the church.
