Obituary of Mildred Louise Vaughn

Mrs. Mildred Louise Vaughn, 97, of Barnesville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 27, 2025.

Mildred was born on Saturday, September 1, 1928, in Barnesville, Georgia to the late Thomas Paul Ross and the late Mildred Maureen Leach Ross. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Augustus Vaughn, daughter and son in law, Margie and Jimmy Rudesal, great-granddaughter, Jamie Harris, sisters, Mary Laura Waller, Pauline Hughes, brother, James Paul Ross.

Mildred was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked for William Carters for many years in Barnesville, Georgia. She loved sewing, cooking, baking, going to Belk and shopping. She enjoyed going to the mountains and St. Petersburg Florida. She taught preschool and Sunday School for 33 years. She was the oldest member of New Life Baptist Church/ Cornerstone Baptist Church.

Mildred is survived by her daughters, Annette McDonald (James), Betty Smith (Ronald); grandchildren, Marvin Middlebrooks (Beth), Teresa Whidden, Delania Hubbard (Mark), Mitzi Brown (Pat), Monny Middlebrooks, Nealy Keith (Michael), Marci Vining (Daniel), Matthew Smith (Christa); 16 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren,; sister, Gloria Sutton, many nieces, nephews and extended family.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Mildred Louise Vaughn will be held Wednesday, December 31, 2025, 11:00 A.M. at Williams Westbury Funeral Home, with Reverend Audie Wells officiating. Friends may visit family on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Barnesville Georgia.
