Mr. Danny James Whitener, age 72, of Barnesville, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

 

Danny was born on Sunday, April 26, 1953, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Dewey James Whitener and the late Earnestine Mitchell Whitener. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Janice Evans Whitener, brother, Chris Whitener.

 

Danny retired from Kroger with over 40 years of service. He was an avid fisherman, this was his favorite thing to do in his is spare time. He lived his life to the fullest with his wife Janice, she was the love of his life.

 

Danny is survived by his brothers, Stephen Whitener (Faith), Kerry Whitener; sister, Shelley D’Angelo (Jason), several nieces, nephews and extended family.

 

No service is being held at this time.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested to make a one-time donation to

St. Judes Children Hospital at stjude.org, in memory of Danny & Janice Whitener.
