Obituary of Byron Buford Cooper,Jr.

Mr. Byron Buford Cooper, Jr., age 77, of Lenox, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

Byron was born on Tuesday, February 10, 1948, in Sandersville, Georgia, to the late Byron Buford Cooper, Sr. and the late Mary Edith Hodges Cooper. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Edwin Cooper.

For those that knew Byron, he lived life on his own terms, and he passed away the same way. He was a loving dad and PawPaw to his children and grandchildren. His quick wit and laughter will be missed dearly, but the family takes great comfort in the assurance that he is with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 

Byron is survived by his son, Brian Cooper (Carol Anne); daughter, Leigh Phillips (Ted); grandchildren, TJ Phillips, Cassy Phillips, Chase Cooper (Sara), Kalyn Cooper.

A Private Graveside Service for Mr. Byron Buford Cooper will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. in Lamar Memorial Gardens, Barnesville, Georgia.
