What a great man my Uncle Charles was. I will remember him fondly and miss his sweet spirit and the gentle and loving way he spoke of his family. He will remain in our hearts forever until will meet again.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all, though we know that Uncle Charles is rejoicing with God at this moment! We were so blessed to have shared the time with Uncle Charles that we did, and I cherish the memories of staying with you all for a few days when I was younger. He always seemed to me, when I was little, to be a gentle, quiet and loving giant... and somehow, that perception never changed! I love you, and I love him.

I am so blessed to have grown up with such a wonderful, Christian Granddaddy. I will miss him and the way he called my name "Dana, Dana" just like when I was a child. I will miss the way he grinned when he was amused at someone but didn't want to outright laugh at them. I will miss the quiet gentle strength of him. My heart is broken but I take strength in knowing one day we will all be together again in God's glory.

Charles was a good man and a great example of what a man should strive to be. I can't recall ever seeing him without a smile on his face, especially with a bunch of his family around. He welcomed me like family, even when I was a stranger. I'm glad my children got a chance to know their Great Grandfather, even if for just a short while.
