Obituary of James Gore

Mr. James Basil Gore, Age 84 of Barnesville passed away on Friday August 27, 2010 at a Lamar County Healthcare Facility. Mr. Gore was born to the late Mr. James Byrd Gore and to the late Mrs. Lee Cook Gore. He was also preceded in death by his daughter Mrs. Melba Wilson. Mr. Gore was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Barnesville. He was a native of Franklin, GA but made his home here in Barnesville for a number of years. He was the owner of the James Gore Insurance Agency where he served the community for many years. He also a member of the Rotary Club here in Barnesville. He was also a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII. Survivors include: His faithful and loving wife of 63 years Mrs. Clonnie Gore; Children- Carol & Boyd Williams- James & Robin Gore- Emily &Mike Leverett – Lance Gore; 5 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mr. James Basil Gore will be conducted on Monday August 30, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the First United Methodist Church of Barnesville, with Rev. Jay Tenney officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Sunday August 29, 2010 from 2:00 PM from 4:00 PM.
