Obituary of Barron Bevil
Mr. Barron Virgil Bevil, age 82, of Barnesville passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2010 in a Carroll County Healthcare Facility. Mr. Bevil was a native and lifelong resident of Lamar County. Son of the late Mr. Bloomer Vaden Bevil and the late Mrs. Irene Barron Bevil, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Mrs. Helen Conley Bevil, and by two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Etheredge and Mrs. Elizabeth Bevil. Among the many duties that Mr. Bevil fulfilled, he once served as the City Manager for Atlanta Gas Light, was a former Lamar County Commissioner, owned his own Real Estate Company for a brief period, and was once the owner/operator of the Chevron Service Station across the street from the Courthouse. Mr. Bevil was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Barnesville.
Survivors include: His Son and Daughter-in-law - Larry and Angela Bevil of Carrollton ; 3 Granddaughters - Hannah League of Carrollton, Hope League of Carrollton, & Amy McCann (& David) of Tallahassee, FL ; 2 Great-Grandchildren - Riley & Macen
Funeral Services for Mr. Barron Virgil Bevil will be conducted Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 11 O’Clock in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home with the Reverend Jay Tenney officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Friday evening (9-10-2010) from 6pm until 8pm.
