Obituary of Mary Shivers

Mrs. Mary “Jean” Taylor Shivers, age 70, passed away Thursday, September 30, 2010 in an Augusta Health Care Facility. Mrs. Shivers was born in Franklin, TN to the late Mr. James Cole Taylor and the late Mrs. Margaret Jean Anderson Taylor. She was a longtime resident of Lamar County, but had made her home in the Augusta area for the past several years. Mrs. Shivers was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Mrs. Shivers is survived by her loving husband - Col. George F. Shivers, Jr. ; 2 Daughters – Catherine Shivers Kinney of Atlanta, & Monica Didier (& Brian Fink) of Philadelphia, PA; 1 Son – Patrick F. Shivers of Martinez. 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren also survive. Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary Jean Shivers will be conducted from the Graveside on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at 2 O’Clock in the Milner Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon from 1pm until 1:30pm.
