Obituary of Charles Byars
Mr. Charles Anthony “Tony” Byars, age 61, of Barnesville passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 in a Bibb County Healthcare Facility. He was born to the late Mr. Robert Hugh Byars and to the late Mrs. Addie Lou Whiddon Polk. Mr. Byars Retired as a Deputy Warden from the Georgia State Department of Corrections, and was a Probation Officer through ZSI Probation for the City of Barnesville. He was a veteran, having served his country in the U.S. Navy Reserves, and in the National Guard. Mr. Byars was a member of the First Baptist Church of Barnesville.
Survivors include: Wife - Susan Byars of Barnesville ; 1 Son - Jason (& Shauna) Byars of Atlanta ; 1 Daughter - Kristen (& Greg) Albritton of Barnesville; 2 Grandsons - Jacob Byars & Aidan Albritton ; 1 Granddaughter - Grace Albritton ; 1 Sister- Ann (& Phares) Harting of Albrightsville, PA ; 3 Brothers-in-Law - John Oliver of Claxton, GA, Gary (& Missy) Ware of Barnesville, GA & Mike (& Page) Ware of Stone Mountain, GA; and Several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.
Funeral Services for Mr. Byars will be conducted Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 11 O’Clock in the First Baptist Church of Barnesville with the Reverend Garth Forster officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Friday Evening, January 14, 2011 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.
