Obituary of Douglas Cone

Mr. Douglas Aubrey Cone, age 81, of Milner passed away Sunday, February 20, 2011 in a Monroe County Healthcare Facility. A native of Greensboro, he made his home here in Lamar County. He was born to the late Mr. John Valentine Cone and the late Mrs. Annie Laura Harrison Cone, and was preceded in death by his brothers, John William Cone, Harry Cone, Jack Cone and Joe Bob Cone. Mr. Cone Retired from the U.S. Navy, where he proudly served his country in Korea and Vietnam. Survivors include: His Wife - Patricia Cone of Milner ; 3 Sons - Douglas Stephen (& Deborah) Cone of McDonough ; Louis Scott (& Debra L.) Cone of Milner ; & Carl W. (& Jeannie K.) Cone of Milner ; 3 Brothers - George M. Cone of Macon ; Ronnie Cone of Macon ; & Walker Cone of Tacoma, WA ; 6 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mr. Douglas Cone will be conducted Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 11 O’Clock in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home with the Reverend Jay Tenney and the Reverend Douglas S. Cone officiating. Interment will follow in Lamar Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, February 22, 2011 from 6pm until 8pm.
