Obituary of Thomas Weldon

Mr. Thomas Maurice Weldon, age 83, of Barnesville passed away on Monday, November 7, 2011 in a Griffin Healthcare Facility. Mr. Weldon was born in Milner to the late Mr. George Ashley Weldon and the late Mrs. Claira Leone Etheridge Weldon. Mr. Weldon was a Veteran of the United States Air Force having served in Korea. He was retired from the Lamar EMC, a member of the Milner united Methodist church where he held numerous positions. He was a Past President of Rotary, a member of the board of directors for United Bank, a Member of the Chamber of Commerce, and he loved being a Cattle Farmer. Survivors include his wife – Betty Weldon of Milner ; 2 Daughters – Joan Weldon Zeerip (& Nelson) of Holland, MI ; Elizabeth Weldon Gaff (& Kenneth) of Milner ; a Son – Thomas M. Weldon II of Milner ; 2 Sisters – Kathleen Weldon Pinckney ( & Robert) of Jackson ; Marinelle Weldon Simpson of McDonough ; 6 Grandchildren – Courtney Weldon of Concord ; Willow Weldon of Milner ; Lindsey Gaff of Milner ; Tanner Gaff of Milner ; Bough Zeerip (& Rebekah) of Grand Junction, CO ; Jennifer (& Ryan) Pazdur of Celedonia, MI ; & 8 Great Grandchildren also survive. Funeral Services for Mr. Thomas Weldon will be conducted at 11 O’ Clock on Thursday, November 10, 2011 in the Milner United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Milner Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral home on Wednesday evening, November 9, 2011 from 6 pm until 8 pm.
