Obituary of Bobilyn Butler

Mrs. Sallie “Bobilyn” Swint Butler, age 88, of Barnesville passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2011 in a Barnesville Healthcare Facility. A native of Milner, she was a lifelong resident of Lamar County. Mrs. Butler was the daughter of the late Mr. George Clinton Swint and the late Mrs. Ida Mae Woodall Swint, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Vester Dumas Butler, and by a son, Mr. Robert Vester “Bobby” Butler. Mrs. Butler was a Financial Secretary at The First Baptist Church of Barnesville, where she was also a member. Survivors include: 1 Daughter - Kathryn Anne Butler Matthews (& Jimmy) of Barnesville ; 1 Son - George Watson Butler (& Paulette) of Macon ; 8 Grandchildren - Lynn M. Grapengeter (& David) of Savannah, Jay Matthews (& Elizabeth) of Barnesville, Brent Matthews (& Amy) of Barnesville, Rhett Butler (& Betsy) of Athens, Rob Butler (& Amy) of Atlanta, Betsy B. Cleveland (& Blair) of Macon, Sarah B. Moreland (& David) of Atlanta, & Bo Butler (& Conlee) of Washington, D.C. ; 12 Great Grandchildren also survive. Funeral Services for Mrs. Sallie Bobilyn Butler will be conducted Friday, December 30, 2011 at 2 O’Clock in the First Baptist Church of Barnesville with the Reverend Garth Forster officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends in the cemetery, immediately following the services. The family has requested, that in lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions be made to The First Baptist Church of Barnesville, 200 Zebulon Street, Barnesville, GA 30204.
