Obituary of Thomas Gasses

Mr. Thomas Anthony “Tommy” Gasses, age 74, of Barnesville, passed away Saturday,April 07,2012 in an Spalding county healthcare facility. Mr. Gasses was a native of Henry county, but had made his home in Barnesville for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Mr. Jesse Gasses and the late Mrs. Mary Flaghan Gasses. Mr. Gasses and his wife Rose were the proud owners of “Tommy’s” clothing store in downtown Barnesville. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church at The Rock, Georgia. He served as President of St. Anne’s Parrish council and was a member of The Knights of Columbus and The Kiwanis Club where he served as president. He was a member of many local organizations. Suvivors include: Wife - Mrs. Rose Gasses of Barnesville ; 2-Daughters - Mrs. Rita (Mark) McGee of Milner, Mrs. Gina Miller, Locust Grove,Ga ; 2-Brothers- Raymond Gasses and Jesse Gasses both of McDonough,GA ; 3- Sisters- Mrs. Sara Hill, Mrs. Vickie Farah and Maxine Farah all of McDonough ; 2- Granchildren- Theresa Smith and John Thompson both of Milner. 2- Great Grandchildren- Dylan Thomas and Kinley Grace Smith both of Milner ; A number of nieces and nephews and other relatives survive. Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Anthony Gasses will be conducted Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at One O’Clock in the St. Peter Catholic Church at The Rock, GA. Interment will follow at the Greenwood cemetery in Barnesville,GA. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Tuesday night, April 10, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
