Obituary of Bernice Sheffield

Mrs. Bernice Lee Godwin Sheffield, age 86, of Barnesville passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at her residence. Daughter of the late Mr. James Godwin and the late Mrs. Lillie May “Big Mamma” McElroy Godwin, she was also preceded in death by a son, James “Jimmy” Sheffield. She was born in Cleburne County, Alabama, but had lived in Barnesville for most of her life. Mrs. Sheffield was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and Home Maker. She was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church. Survivors include: Her Husband - The Reverend Horace Levi Jackson Sheffield ; 2 Daughters - Judith Sheffield Brock (& Emory), and Sheila Sheffield Milner ; 5 Grandchildren - Patrisha “Patches” Mongeon (& Mike), Christopher Brock (& Charity), Jillian Brazier (& Rick), Jeremy Worthy (& Lacy), & Jennifer Neal (& Keith) ; 9 Great Grandchildren - Jacob Brock, Chloe Brock, Logan Brock, Dawson Brazier, Bella Brazier, Lillie Brazier, Brantley Worthy, Laura Grace Worthy, & Garrett Neal (due 7/11/2012) ; Numerous Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, Great Nephews, and their families. Funeral Services for Mrs. Bernice Sheffield will be conducted Friday, June 15, 2012 at 10:30am in the Calvary Baptist Church in Barnesville. Interment will be held Friday afternoon at 4 O’Clock in the Hollywood Cemetery in Tallapoosa, GA. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Thursday evening, June 14, 2012 from 6pm until 8pm.
