Obituary of Paula Oates

Mrs. Paula Gail Hickman Oates, age 64, of Barnesville passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2009 in a Macon Healthcare Facility. Mrs. Oates was a lifelong resident of Lamar County. Daughter of the late Mr. Gustabe D. Hickman and the late Mrs. Kate Barksdale Hickman, she was preceded in death by her Husband, Mr. Frederick Oates, and by her Daughter, Wendy Kate Oates; and a Half-Brother, Robert Hickman. Mrs. Oates was a member of New Life Baptist Church, and served as a Monitor on the Special Education Bus for the Lamar County School System. Survivors include: her Son – Mr. Frederick L. “Freddie” Oates, Jr. and Wife, Nikki; Grandchildren – Katelyn Wendy Oates, Kyler Jase Oates, Kennedy Cannon Oates, Tanner Kayne Oates ; & Her Half-Sister - Juanita Webb. Funeral Services for Mrs. Paula Gail Hickman Oates will be conducted Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 3:30pm in the New Life Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Friday, March 6, 2009 between the hours of 7 PM and 9 PM.
