Obituary of Allene Walters

Mrs. Allene Naomi Ziss Walters, age 98, of Johnstonville, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2013 in a local Healthcare facility. She was the daughter of late Mr. Gustave and late Mrs. Cora Ziss. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Morgan William Walters, and a Brother, Mr. Bob Ziss. Mrs. Walters was born in Toledo, OH, on July 28, 1914, but lived in Lamar County most of her adult life where she worked as a homemaker on the family farm. Mrs. Walters was a member and past Elder of the Barnesville Presbyterian Church, a quilter in the joy club, past treasurer of the Johnstonville Community Club, and a Young-at-Heart Club member. Mrs. Walters is survived by a sister Gerry Ziss Demlow of Blissfield, Michigan ; & 5 Children – Jack (& Elaine) Walters ; Joanne (& Graham) Hayes ; Jim (& Pam) Walters ; John (& Monica) Walters ; & Judy (& Larry) Landry ; 6 Grandchildren – John (& Kay) Hayes ; Leslie Hayes Westerberg ; Todd (& Kristi) Walters ; Glen (& Angie) Walters ; Shelli (& Shane) Lance ; & Russ (& Nicole) Walters ; 2 Step Grandchildren – Brad Sweet ; & Chris (& Angie) Sweet ; 14 Great Grandchildren – Lauren Walters ; Katrina Westerberg ; Hannah Hayes ; Robert Hayes ; Ivey Walters ; Morgan Walters ; Amy Westerberg ; Will Walters ; Chase Lance ; Tristian Hayes ; Mckenzie Walters ; Colby Lance ; Wyatt Walters ; & Willow Walters ; & 3 Step – Great Grandchildren – Andrew Sweet ; Eva Marie Sweet ; & William Sweet. Funeral Services for Mrs. Allene Walters will be conducted at 11 O’ clock on Thursday, February 28, 2013 in the Barnesville Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home on Wednesday evening, February 27, 2013 from 6pm until 8pm. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be to the Barnesville Presbyterian Church or to the Sunny Grove Care fund in memory of Mrs. Allene Walters.
