Obituary of Helen Rachel Haywood Parker

Mrs. Helen Rachel Haywood Parker, 86, of Barnesville passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015, at her home. Mrs. Parker was born September 2, 1928 in Spalding County, daughter of the late Frank and Jewel Underwood Haywood. She lived in Barnesville all of her life and was a homemaker. Mrs. Parker was a member of Midway Baptist Church and was the pianist for more than forty years. She was active in Sunday school and worked in the nursery. Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Roy Parker of Barnesville; son and daughter-in-law, Cary and Alice Parker of Macon; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Greg and Natasha Parker, granddaughter, Cindy Hatcher; great-grandchildren, Kayse Skinner, Nicholas Parker and Brooke Parker; and a great-great grandson, Kamden Parker Adams; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Roy Kenneth Parker, a great-grandson, James Rancin Hatcher, and her two sisters, Peggy Haywood Bishop and Frankie Haywood Burrell. Funeral services for Mrs. Parker will be at 3:00 Wednesday at Breedlove Memorial Chapel with Rev. Franklin Etheridge officiating. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery. The family receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00. Service Information
