Obituary of Dennis E. Johnson

Dennis Edward Johnson, age 63, passed away at his home in Barnesville, Georgia on January 10, 2015, after an extended illness. Mr. Johnson lived most of his adult life in Barnesville, but lived previously in Fort Pierce, Florida where he owned and operated a professional glass glazing service. He returned to Georgia in 1990 and worked at the William Carter Company. He joined the Caterpillar work force in 2000 as a generator service technician. Dennis enjoyed surfing, watching football and Nascar racing, and the restoration of antique vehicles. He will be remembered most for his kind heart and loving spirit. Dennis is preceded in death by his father, Cecil Johnson. Survivors include his beloved mother, Emily Johnson of Barnesville; sister, Linda Andrews of Abu Dhabi, UAE; brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Lorrie Johnson of Hampton; niece, Lauren Andrews and great niece, Zara; nephew and his wife, Stuart and Alison Andrews and great niece, Amelia; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at Breedlove Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Garth Forster officiating. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery will immediately follow the service. Visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home before the service on Wednesday from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dennis E. Johnson may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 200 Zebulon Street, Barnesville GA 30204. Service Information
