Obituary of Jule Ann Garby
Mrs. Jule Ann Garby, 87, of Barnesville passed away Friday, June 27, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Garby was born December 25, 1926 in Saginaw, Michigan, daughter of the late John D. and Vera Allen Benson. She was a retired educator from the Dekalb County School System. Mrs. Garby was an active member of the Marvin United Methodist Church where she had also served as bookkeeper. She volunteered with the Heritage Inn Nursing Home, Relay for Life, Friends of the Barnesville Lamar County Library, tutored Adult Literacy and was a member of the Ferst Foundation.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathleen Sotello of Boerne, TX; daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Dan Moore of Unicoi, TN and Anne and Chris Haines of Barnesville; grandchildren and their spouses, Joseph Sotello, Thomas and Kimberly Sotello, Stephanie and Cody Murdock, Carson Moore, and Alexa Haines; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore L. Garby.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 Monday at the Marvin United Methodist Church with Rev. John Norman officiating. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Jule Ann Garby to the Ferst Foundation or the Barnesville Lamar County Library.
