Obituary of Winnie Inez Stephens

Mrs. Winnie Inez Stephens, 96, of Roanoke, Alabama passed away Monday, June 9, 2014, at Traylor Nursing Home in Roanoke. She was born November 26, 1917 in Randolph County, daughter of the late James and Molly Baldwin Shaw. She was a long-time resident of Marietta where she was a member of Crestview Baptist Church (now GracePointe Marietta Church). After moving to LaGrange she attended the First Baptist Church on the Square in LaGrange and was an active member of the Richard Shiver Sunday School Class. She was an accomplished seamstress and had worked for Dixie Mills. Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Stephens; son, Hubert Quillian Stephens; and 11 brothers and sisters. Survivors include several nieces and nephews to include a special niece, Doris Jefferson of Roanoke, AL. Funeral services will be at 2:00 Saturday at the First Baptist Church on the Square in LaGrange, with Rev. Paul Blair officiating. Graveside services will be at 4:30 at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta with the Rev. Jim Akins of GracePointe Marietta, officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:30 until 1:30, before the service. Service Information
