Obituary of Danny Abbott

Mr. Danny Abbott, age 67, of Barnesville, passed away Monday, August 8, 2016, at his home. Mr. Abbott was born August 7, 1949 in Griffin, son of the late Mr. Benjamin (Buster) Thomas Abbott Sr. and Mrs. Mary Evelyn Boggs Abbott. Mr. Abbott attended Antioch Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Gordon Military College. He also was a graduate of Georgia State University where he received his Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree. Mr. Abbott retired as the Senior Vice President of Administration for YKK (USA) Inc. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Oliver Abbott of Barnesville; son and daughter-in-law, Blake Abbott and Erin Witte of Baltimore, MD; daughter, Kim Abbott of Barnesville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Bonny Abbott and Frank and Donna Abbott all of Barnesville; sister-in-law Jane Hascall of Lakewood, CO; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Glenn and Arlynn Oliver of Huntersville, NC; and 14 nieces and nephews. Mr. Abbott is preceded in death by his brother, Benjamin (Benny) Thomas Abbott Jr. Funeral services will be at 2:00 Thursday at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at Lamar Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
