Obituary of Hazel Belle Rains

Mrs. Hazel Belle Rains, age 96, formerly of Rainbow City, Alabama, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016, in Barnesville, GA. Mrs. Rains was born May 5, 1920, daughter of the late Eldridge Grady Rains and Bessie Loma Elrod Rains Hawkins. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, George Gordon Rains. Mrs. Rains was a homemaker and member of the Asbury United Methodist Church. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Judy and Sam Finn of Barnesville, GA; grandchildren and their spouses, Decia and Danny Barker of Tracy City, TN, and Dara and Darin McGrath of Boca Raton, FL; great-grandchildren, Joseph Barker, Emily McGrath, and Michael McGrath; brother, Ray Rains of Rainbow City, AL; nephew and his spouse, Jeff and Leigh Ann Rains of Montgomery, AL; nieces, Glenda and Tommy Smith of Covington, GA, and Rosemary Hubbard of Guntersville, AL; great-niece, Hannah Rains; and great-nephews, Zachary Rains and Noah Rains. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Asbury United Methodist Church in Albertville, Alabama with Rev. Gene Lambert officiating. Interment will follow in the Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 until 2:00 before the service.
