Obituary of Clonnie Talley Gore

Mrs. Clonnie Talley Gore, age 88, of Barnesville, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016, at her home. Mrs. Gore was born July 7, 1927 in Heard County, Georgia, daughter of the late Charles and Gillie Ann Phillips Talley. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James B. Gore, Sr. Mrs. Gore was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Adult Bible Class and the United Methodist Women. She was a homemaker and a member of the Azalea Garden Club. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Carol and Boyd Williams of Bremen, GA, James Basil Jr. and Robin Gore of Collierville, TN, Emily and Mike Leverett of Barnesville, and Timothy Lance Gore and his partner Dan Herrick of Atlanta; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Kathryn and James Cummings of Woodstock; grandsons, Kyle Wilson of Tallahassee, FL, Thomas Gore of Nashville, TN, Kase Wilson of Gulf Port MS, granddaughter, Kalyn Wilson of Albany, OR; great-grandchildren, Aislynn Cummings, Jackson Wilson, Kendall Wilson, and Wilder Wilson; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Melba Gore Wilson. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dana Overton-Garrett officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00. The family respectfully requests that flowers be omitted and contributions be made in memory of Mrs. Clonnie Talley Gore to the First United Methodist Church, or John’s Place, at 375 Thomaston St., Barnesville, GA 30204.
