Obituary of Mary Sinclair McClung
Mrs. Mary Sinclair McClung, age 86, of Barnesville, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016, at her home. Mrs. McClung was born October 1, 1929 in Box Springs, Georgia, daughter of the late John Grady Sr. and Willa Maness Sinclair. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Billy McClung. Mrs. McClung was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Barnesville and the Patie Hubbard Group United Methodist Women. She served as church secretary, played in the hand bell choir, and prepared the Wednesday evening supper. Mrs. McClung was known for her coconut cake and homemade candy.
Survivors include her daughters, Elisa McClung Ingram of Barnesville, and Becky McClung White of Jasper; grandchildren, John Paris and his wife, Bethany White of Jasper, Naomi and her husband, Drew Craver of Athens, and William Ingram of Barnesville; great-grandchildren, Sophie White, Drew Craver II, and Twyla Craver; niece, Ann and her husband, Malvin Robinson of Ashboro, NC; nephews, Alvin Earl King of Box Springs, GA, Jerry Sinclair of Knoxville, TN and Bobby Sinclair of Pine Mountain, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dana Overton-Garrett officiating. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus. The family will receive friends at the church from12:00 until 1:00 before the service.
