Obituary of Warren Ridings

Mr. Warren C. Ridings, age 73, of Milner, passed away Monday, January 25, 2016, at Northside Hospital in Atlanta. Mr. Ridings was born January 29, 1942 in Pioneer, Tennessee, son of the late Crockett and Bertha Rutherford Ridings. He was a member of Meridian Sun Lodge No. 26, F.&A.M. and retired plant manager of Sybil Mills (Signal Mills) in Griffin. Mr. Ridings was a veteran of the U.S. National Guard. He loved genealogy and enjoyed fishing and sewing. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Teresa Ridings of Milner; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Jeff Stone of Barnesville; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Rachel Ridings of Milner; grandchildren, Taylor Stone, Logan Ridings, Hope Stone, Lisa Smith Bledsoe and her husband, Brian; Dylan Smith; four great-grandchildren, Bethany Fuller, Sage Bledsoe, Bradley Bledsoe, and Ryleigh Mae Smith; sisters and brothers, Gertrude Edmondson, Leroy Ridings, Earl Ridings, Wanda Carper, and David Ridings; numerous nieces and nephews; and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and sister, Frank Ridings, Ted Ridings, Jay Ridings and Bessie Dozier The family will receive friends Wednesday evening at Breedlove Memorial Chapel from 6:00 to 9:00. The family will receive friends Friday evening at Coffey Funeral Home in New Tazewell, Tennessee from 6:00 to 9:00. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Saturday at Coffey Funeral Home with Rev. Orbie Estep and Rev. Lawrence Fultz officiating. Interment will follow in the Keck Cemetery in Tazewell, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Warren Ridings to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
