Obituary of Barbara Sapp Miller
Mrs. Barbara Sapp Miller, age 80, of Barnesville, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016, at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon. She was born May 14, 1935 in Atlanta, daughter of the late Levie and Lucille Cook Sapp. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Barnesville, the Encourager Sunday Class, and the Women of Purpose. She also helped fill shoe boxes at the church every year with Operation Christmas Child. Mrs. Miller was a volunteer at Faith Christian Academy, and retired from the U.S. Comptroller of Currency. She loved caring for her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Michael G. Miller of Barnesville, sons and daughters-in-law Tommy and Vickie Vining of Stockbridge, and Mike and Deborah Vining of Morrow; daughters and sons-in-law, Lucille (Lucy) and Eddie Thomas of Canton and Marie and Kevin Bennett of Macon; nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Arlene Sapp of Fayetteville; sister and brother-in-law Linda Sapp Slagle and Ken Slagle of Rex. She was preceded death by a grandson, Michael Joseph Vining, and a brother, Charles Levie Sapp.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Barnesville with Rev. Garth Forster officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Breedlove Memorial Chapel Monday afternoon from 4:00 until 8:00.
