Obituary of Lucille Allen Pennington

Lucille Allen Pennington, 98, of Barnesville, Georgia, passed away on May 14, 2018 at her residence.

She was born in Monroe County, Georgia on December 11, 1919 to the late Wiley Claud Allen and Annie Mae Roquemore Allen.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of sixty-one years, John Robert Pennington, four brothers and three sisters. She loved her family, her church and walking her path around the lakes. She was an accomplished seamstress and dedicated Sunday School teacher for many years at First Baptist Church of Barnesville. She was the bookkeeper in the family business until retirement.

She is survived by her two daughters and “sons”, Bobbie and Tim Heard of Duluth, Georgia and Gail and Bob Taylor of Barnesville, Georgia. She is also survived by her grandson, David (Sabrina) Heard of Duluth, Georgia; granddaughter, Jill Taylor of Atlanta, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Cole and Brianna Heard of Duluth, Georgia; Several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 2 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Barnesville, officiated by Reverend Garth Forster. Visitation will be held the hour before the service. Interment will follow the service in Lamar Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First Baptist Church of Barnesville, 200 Zebulon St., Barnesville, Georgia 30204.
