Obituary of Marvin Carlton Maynard

Mr. Marvin Carlton Maynard, age 61, of Barnesville, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at his residence.

Carlton was born in Griffin, Georgia on Sunday, September 30, 1956 to the late Robert Carlton Maynard and the late Lillian Inez Driskell Maynard. Carlton was the owner of G&M Enterprise, selling Mahindra Equipment. He loved cooking, traveling to see his grandchildren, and was dedicated to his business. Carlton formerly sold insurance with American General Insurance Company. He was a member of the Rotary Club, former Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the year, and was a member of the Johnstonville Community Club. Carlton was a member of the Marvin United Methodist Church, but had most recently attended the First Baptist Church of Barnesville.

Carlton is survived by his wife, Genia Maynard; children, Lewis Maynard, Meredith & Brian Bennett; grandchildren, Maryclara Bennett, Aubrey Bennett; brother & sister-in-law, Mike & Melanie Maynard; niece, Mandy Maynard.

A funeral service for Mr. Marvin Carlton Maynard will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Barnesville with Reverend Garth Forster officiating. Interment will follow in Lamar Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church of Barnesville from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service.
