Obituary of Eleanor Joanne Worley
Mrs. Eleanor Joanne Carden Worley, age 80, of Milner, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Brightmoor Hospice.
Joanne, a native of Lamar County, was born on Saturday, January 22, 1938 to the late John Berry Carden and the late Ruby Bell Rice Carden. She was also preceded by her husband, Oliver Richard Worley and her son, Robert Berry Worley. Joanne retired as a librarian at Flint River Regional Library in Griffin, Georgia and was a member of Rock Springs Church. She volunteered at WinShape Camp in Rome, Georgia and was an election poll worker in Milner.
Joanne is survived by her children, Stephanie Fogarty and Allison Howard; grandchildren, Jacob Howard, Madison Howard and fiancé Gage Gaskin, Lauren Fogarty, and Dalton Fogarty; great-grandchildren, Waylen Gaskin; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara & Dale McDaniel of San Diego, California. Nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
A funeral service for Mrs. Joanne Carden Worley will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Rock Springs Church with Dr. Benny Tate, Reverend Larry Ballard, and Reverend Trey Varner officiating. Interment will follow in Milner Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Williams-Westbury Funeral Home on Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
Flowers will be accepted, however those desiring may make a memorial contribution to the Ferst Foundation for Childhood Literacy, 401 Thomaston Street, Barnesville, Georgia 30204 in memory of Mrs. Joanne Worley.
