Obituary of Rachel Rich

 

Mrs. Rachel Ann Sorrow Rich, age 68, of Barnesville, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at WellStar Spalding Regional Hospital.

 

Rachel was born on Wednesday, June 28, 1950 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Grover Nathaniel Sorrow and the late Mildred Elizabeth Grimes Sorrow. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Delores Carter. She worked for the Georgia Department of Revenue as a Revenue Agent and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Barnesville. She enjoyed crafts, embroidering, and quilting.

 

Rachel is survived by her husband of 51 years, Dennis Rich; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Kimberly Rich; daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Eric Platt; grandchildren, Michael and Kendal Conklin, Keli Conklin and her fiancé Mark Harshbarger, Travis Conklin, Taylor and Diana Rich, Jacob Platt, Joshua Rich, and Sydney Rich; great-grandson, Brooks Conklin; sister and brother-in-law, Gwen and James Eddy; brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Laura Sorrow; several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Rachel Rich will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Barnesville with Reverend Garth Forster officiating. Interment will follow in Lamar Memory Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Mrs. Rich will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service.
