Obituary of Paul S. Schmidt
Mr. Paul S. Schmidt, age 77, of Barnesville, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018, at Upson Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Schmidt was born on Tuesday, June 10, 1941, in Youngstown, Ohio to the late Paul F. Schmidt and the late Ruth Frances Athey Schmidt. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and served as a Stephens Minister. Mr. Schmidt owned and operated The Movie Star for 25 years on Main Street.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Nan Schmidt of Barnesville; children, Paul Schmidt of Knoxville, TN, Kelly Hagaman (Hal) of Strawberry Plains, TN, Eric Schmidt (Suzi) of Clinton, TN, Michael Schmidt of Barnesville, Amanda Melton (Shane) of Barnesville; grandchildren, Heather Keisler (Jeremy), Stephanie Justice (Matt), Andrew Schmidt, Daniel Schmidt, Clay Schmidt, Bryan Schmidt, Haley Hagaman, Madison Melton, Emma Kate Melton, Ella Grace Melton; great- grandchildren, Ayden, Cheyenne San Miguel, Kinsley Justice; brother- in- law, William Davis of Youngstown, OH; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Paul S. Schmidt will be held at 2:00, Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Cyndi McDonald and Jay Tenney officiating. Interment will follow in Lamar Memory Gardens. Friends may visit the family at Williams-Westbury Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., and from 1:00 - 2:00, Wednesday in the church fellowship hall before the service.
