Obituary of Louise Speight Martin

Mrs. Louise Speight Martin, 99, of Thomaston, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at her home. Louise was born on Sunday, August 6, 1922, to the late Julian Tully Speight and Frances Elizabeth Etheridge. She was preceded in death by her husband William Clinton Martin, daughter-in-law, Linda Martin and grandchildren Keith and Amy Martin. Mrs. Martin retired from the William Carter Company as a seamstress after many years of service. Louise enjoyed gardening, canning vegetables, and cooking for her family. She also enjoyed going to church. Louise is survived by her children Carol Nichols, Danny Martin, Sonja Blackmon, Linda Valentine (Ivan), grandchildren and their spouses; Gina Spillers (Mark), Judy Moncrief, Beth Dukes (Dewayne), Jami Chastain (Alan), Jesse Blackmon, Rhonda Celsor (Gregg), and Nicholas Valentine. A host of extended family also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Louise Speight Martin will held on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. in Breedlove Memorial Chapel with Pastor Kenneth Horton and Dr. Jeffrey Morgan officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Lamar Memory Gardens.
