Obituary of Monroe Lawson Farmer

Mr. Monroe Lawson Farmer, age 83, of Barnesville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 8, 2021 at his home. Lawson was born on Thursday, December 2, 1937, to his father and mother Rosa Matilda. Mr. Lawson is preceded in death by his mother, Rosa Matilda Lawson. He served 53 years as Vice President of Carters Manufacturing Department. Mr. Lawson was an avid golfer; he also enjoyed his time traveling and was known as “one of a kind” by his family and friends. Those left to cherish the memory of Lawson is his wife of 60 years, Hilda Farmer, children and their spouses; Mark Farmer (Lane), Mike Farmer, Karmen Chambless (Clay), grandchildren; Morgan Justice, Macy Bryan (Luke), Hardin Chambless, Haddie Chambless, great-grandchildren; Ellie Justice, Ava Justice, Madelyn Bryan. A host of extended family also survive. A memorial service for Mr. Monroe Lawson Farmer will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Barnesville with Pastor Jon Beck officiating the service. The family will greet friends and loved ones one hour prior to the service at the church.
