Obituary of Carl McKinley

Mr. Carl “Allen” McKinley, Sr. of Barnesville, Georgia passed away from this earth to heaven of Sunday, December 19, 2021. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on July 21, 1956. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn R. McKinley, maternal grandparents; Mary Rozier and husband George, paternal grandparents; Charlie Earl, Sr. and Grace McKinley. He is survived by his wife of almost 7 years, Penny McKinley, children, and their spouses; Christy Greer (Rusty), CJ McKinley, Jr (Autumn), grandchildren; William Greer, Hayden Greer, Ethain McKinley, Adrian McKinley, Keegan McKinley, stepchildren; Amanda Hammock (Kyle), Eric Whatley, father; Charlie E. McKinley, Jr, brothers; Earl McKinley III, Tim McKinley, sisters; Gail Stephenson (Joe), Marcia Brice (Rick). Allen grew up in Forest Park, Georgia where he graduated High School in 1974. He lived in the Forest Park and Conley community where he raised his children. Allen and his wife Penny recently moved to Barnesville in February 2020. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is remembered by his children as being both father and mother for them. Allen lived his life as a servant of Christ Jesus. He served in children’s ministry for more than 25 years and was the adult Bible study leader at First Christian Church in Forest Park. He also loved woodworking and collecting future projects. The family will announce plans for a Celebration of Life for Mr. Carl “Allen” McKinley at a later date.
