Obituary of Anne Batchelor

Mrs. Rebecca Anne Fossett Batchelor, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at The Woods Assisted Living Center in Griffin, Georgia. Anne was born on Monday, October 2, 1933, in South Bend, Indiana to the late John Howard Fossett and Katherine Lee Fossett. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, V. T. Batchelor, Sr.; son-in-law, Steve Underwood; siblings, Barry Fossett, Marcia Wright, Connie Troncalli, and Karen Turner. Anne was a very outgoing woman; she never met a stranger. She was a master gardener in her own right and was known far and wide for her precious day lilies. Anne was a longtime teacher in Butts County, and Spalding County schools as well as Gordon College in Barnesville. Anne loved her animals and rescued all that she could. She was a tremendous seamstress; she loved to make quilts and give them away to her family and friends. Most of all, Anne was a dedicated Christian. She was a longtime Sunday School teacher and choir member at Pineview Baptist Church. She loved her Jesus and served Him at whatever church she found herself in. Anne will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and friend to all. Anne is survived by her children, Rhonda Gail Underwood, Rosanne Batchelor Folds (Keith), V. T. Batchelor, Jr. (Cathy), and James Eric Batchelor (Kirstin); seven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a host of extended family also survive. A Memorial Service for Mrs. Rebecca Anne Fossett Batchelor will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 4:00 P.M. at Breedlove Memorial Chapel with Mr. Brandon Mercer and Mr. John Nance officiating. The family will greet friends and loved ones one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. There will be a private burial held at a later date.
