Obituary of C.W. Ball

C.W. “Sonny “Ball, 82, of Griffin died Thursday, April 21, 2022 in a local hospital. A native of Lamar County, Mr. Ball was born March 30, 1940, son of the late Clarence Marvin Ball and Mildred McKneely Ball. Mr. Ball was a graduate of Gordon Military College. Prior to retirement, he was employed by the Lockheed-Martin Corporation as an avionics technician. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, an avid gun collector and a pilot. Mr. Ball was a member of the High Shoals Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors include two sisters and a brother- in -law Janice and George Moore and Audrey Smith; brother Everard Ball; nephews George “Rip” Moore Jr. and Carlyle and Yarrow Smith; aunts and uncle Wayne and Betty McKneely and Margaret McKneely. Private graveside and interment services were conducted on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at High Shoals Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made High Shoals Primitive Baptist Church in C/O Brother Ed York, 1006 Highway 36 West, Barnesville, Georgia 30204.
