Obituary of Betty Ann Wright

Mrs. Betty Ann Bunn Wright, age 86, of Barnesville, Georgia, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022, at Upson Regional Medical Center.

Betty was born on Sunday, October 13, 1935, to the late Thomas Bunn and the late Gladys Buice Bunn. Betty was preceded in death by one daughter, Angela Staples; grandson, Dustin Darden; two sisters, Mary Dawson and Tommie McKinley; husbands, John Warren Smith and Julian Drean Wright. She was the matriarch of her family. She was a hardworking, Christian woman who loved sharing about Jesus. She was known by everyone as “MeeMaw”.

Betty is survived by her three daughter and their spouses, Bonnie & Terry Jones, Donna & Bobby Brantley, Joy & Steve Desch; three step-daughters and their spouses, Christine & Richard Crumbly, Patricia Burt, Becky & Larry Klein; step-sons and their spouses, Henry Wright, David & Ann Wright; sister, Lorene Akins; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Ann Wright will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. at The Good Shepherd Worship Center Barnesville Church of God. Betty will lie in state at the church from 12:00 Noon until the service hour. Interment will follow the service in Lamar Memory Gardens. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
