Obituary of June Darlene Johnston

Mrs. June “Darlene” Hurd Johnston, age 87, of Barnesville, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at her home.

Darlene was born on Sunday, September 29, 1935, in Barnesville, Georgia, to the late Benjamin Harrison Hurd and the late Lena Estelle Davis Hurd. Along with her parents, Darlene was preceded in death her loving husband, Harry Cecil Johnston; son, Harry Victor “Vic” Johnston; brothers, Marvin Hilton Hurd and Lonnie Julian Hurd; sister, Sue Ellen Hurd Long; great-granddaughter, June Angel. Darlene loved her family. She enjoyed gardening and traveling. Most of all, she loved her Lord Jesus Christ.

Darlene is survived by her children and their spouses, Ric Johnston, Wanda Johnston Sealock (Larry), Ann Johnston Coffey (Don); daughter in law, Vanessa Johnston; grandchildren and their spouses, Brad, Luke (Kaylee), Alex (Keri), Ryan (Amy), Mandy, Richard (Kristy), David (Tina), Donna (John); great-grandchildren and their spouses, Brayden (Jessie), Abigail, Cody, Megan (Brandon), Haven, Jenna, Gage, Bryce, Skye, Kinsey, Jacob, Eli, Tatum, Finlee, Liam, Lilee, Halli, Holland; great-great grandchildren, Waylon, Emma, Hayden, Leigha, Rylee June; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Memorial Service for Mrs. Darlene Johnston will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. in Greenwood Cemetery with Dr. Benny Tate officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be Rock Springs Church, 219 Rock Springs Road, Milner, Georgia 30257 in memory of June.
