Obituary of Winifred Ann Pippin Calloway

Mrs. Winifred Ann Pippin Calloway, age 83, of Milner, Georgia, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022, at her home.

 

Winifred was born on Monday, October 23, 1939, in Langley Field, Virginia, to the late Denard Gaston Pippin and the late Verlie Christine Brown Pippin. She was preceded in death by parents, as well as her loving husband, Paul Calloway. Winifred attended Gordon Military High School and graduated in 1960. Following high school, she attended Gordon Military College. She worked at New Berry’s in Macon before joining the Marines. Winifred proudly served her country in the United States Marines Corps where she was stationed in Cherry Point, North Carolina. Following her time in the Marines, she went back to Gordon State College to work as a secretary.

 

Winifred is survived by her children and their spouses, Charles Eugene Calloway, Evelyn Merchant (Samuel); sister, Hope Pippin Andrews; brothers and their wives, Jackson Pippin (Jackie), Sauney Pippin (Geraldine). She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Winifred Ann Pippin Calloway will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at Ramah Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Kurt Bacon officiating.
