Sauney Pippin was a giant among men, a pillar of his community. He built a successful farm out of a barren land, in spite of oil embargos, droughts, and insects. He always kept his sense of humor, and he was fun to be around. He was the star softball player at many Joe Bowdoin picnics. He was a good neighbor to all, and would lend a hand to anyone in need.

Sauney was my friend since he, Jackson, Winifred and Hope were children. They were almost family. My heart was broken that he had to suffer but filled with love and joy that he was a part of my life. My love to Geraldine and all the family.
