Deep within my heart there is a melody. It is the song of a loving family who accepted me in as though I belonged. It is the song of a friendship of almost 50 years, when we ate together Ann's fine biscuits and tomato gravy, rode the streets listening to George Strait and others, sat in the front yard watching the world go by, travelled to Carabelle to lounge, explore, and fish while making more never-to-be-forgotten friends .....I do not know what my life might have been without you, how I would have gotten through the perils of teaching without you two as a counselling sounding board. I value especially your children and grandchildren whom I grew to love so much. Yes, you are deep in my heart. It's a permanent thing, anchored there by many strong roots that will never become untwined!!! I live my Maffetts, Ann and Frank! I will miss you forever! ❤

So many memories were made with “Dad” camping but my most favorite are the quiet times we just sat by the lake and he told me stories. He taught me how wonderful it was to eat Bugels and pour BBQ sauce in the “horn” and eat it! I will forever cherish these memories.
