Obituary of Brenda Joyce Sweat

Mrs. Brenda Joyce Sweat, age 78, of Barnesville, Georgia, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024.

Brenda was born on Thursday, October 11, 1945, in Barnesville, Georgia, to the late David Hugh Sutton and the late Audrey Lee Smith Sutton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joe Harris Sweat, and her daughter Brenda Jones Martin.

Brenda loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was also a grandmother to all the neighborhood kids. She was a faithful member at First Assembly of God Church in Barnesville. She loved bird watching and enjoyed many vacations with her cherished friends.

She is survived by her Sons; Jeff Jones and Wife, Claudette of The Rock; Joseph Jones and Wife, Patricia of Rome; Keith Jones of Barnesville; and Kenny Jones of Barnesville; Daughter: Anita Sweat Buice of Forsyth; Son-in-Law: Don Martin of Yatesville; Grandchildren: Crystal, Brandi, Amie, Misty, Lindsey, Kenny, Destany, Heather, Allison, Emily, Hunter, Bryer, Gabby, Hannah, Savannah, Jessie; and a great many of Great-Grandchildren and Great- Great Grandchildren.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Brenda Joyce Sweat will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. in Breedlove Memorial Chapel with Pastor Daniel Perry officiating. Interment will follow the service in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, May 24, 2024, from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service.
