William was always around when we visited! He'd take us to his house to feed the horse or donkeys and we'd play around in his yard. Even though our visits weren't often, William was never a stranger to us! He always treated us like family. He will be dearly missed.

I will miss you so much, Mr. Lovejoy. You were the hardest working man I've ever known. I enjoyed sitting with you under your shed chatting with you about your living years and all of the interesting history you told me about. You were a BRILLIANT man. It is often said that "Life goes on". But with you being absent suddenly, it won't be near as interesting to me.
Godspeed William.....we needed more of citizens from THE GREATEST GENERATION such as yourself.

Mr. Lovejoy we feel so honored to have known you the last two years. You welcomed us and gave my husband an instant buddy. I remember the first time you and him talked. You asked him are going to be a good Neighbor? If you’re a good Neighbor I will be a good neighbor. If you’re a bad neighbor, I can be a bad neighbor. You said do you have a job? My husband said yes sir and then you said well then I like you. He enjoyed his talks and after every one he would come in to say I think he may like me a little. Thank you for keeping our side of the street clean and cut. I will miss seeing you on the on your daily lawnmower rides.

I am so sorry to hear this. I will miss seeing him almost every day on his lawn mower keeping the grass looking good on Cannafax Road. I know he enjoyed working outside and I know he loved his family. My thoughts and prayers are with Clay and Betty and the other members of William's family, now and in the days ahead. as you learn to live without his physical prresence here.
