Obituary of Pierce Wesley Wilson

Mr. Pierce “Wesley” Wilson, age 88, passed away on Monday, November 11,2024 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Wesley was a life-long native of Milner Georgia. He graduated from Milner High School, attended Georgia Military School, and served in the Air National Guard. Wesley retired from Georgia Department of Transportation after 30 years of service and later began his second career with Fayette County Water Authority.
Wesley was the long-time music director and served as a deacon at Milner Baptist Church. Later he served as a deacon and choir member at the First Baptist Church of Barnesville. Wesley loved gospel music and was known for his beautiful singing voice.
Wesley was a devoted family man who dearly loved his family. He is preceded in death by his father, Homer Alton Wilson, his mother Ophelia Middlebrooks Wilson, and his beautiful daughter Gay Wilson Bradberry.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Betty Thompson Wilson, his daughter, Fay Wilson Dyal, his two grandsons and their families, Matthew, Haley, Adrian, Wesley and Drake Dyal of Moline, Illinois and Steven, Roxanne, Riley, and Reese of Zebulon Georgia, and his only granddaughter, Hannah Leigh Bradberry.
When Hannah’s mother Gay passed away at the age 32, Wesley and Betty devoted their lives to loving and caring for Hannah who is totally disabled.
Wesley is also survived by his sisters and brother-in-law’s, Linda and Larry Walker, Sara and Jimmy Hearn, Joyce Waller, Charles and Mary Alice Thompson and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private Celebration of Life service will be held on a future date.
